Daily essentials

What to Bring

To help your child feel comfortable and settled at nursery, please bring the following where needed:

Clothing

  • • A pair of wellies
  • • Gloves
  • • A rain jacket
  • • Old clothes for nursery
  • • A spare set of clothes
  • • Optional slippers to keep at nursery

Warm weather

  • • A sun hat
  • • Sun cream to be left at nursery

Daily essentials

  • • A labelled water bottle each day
  • • Enough nappies and wipes for the day
  • • You can leave a pack at nursery and we’ll let you know when more are needed

Babies & rest time

  • • Labelled milk with your child's name and instructions
  • • We provide blue cow's milk
  • • Bedding for naps if required
  • • Any comforters your child needs
  • • Bedding will be sent home weekly to be washed

Each child will have their own peg where their belongings will be put at the start of the day.

We use Tapestry, a secure online learning journal, to share observations, photos and development updates linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Updates are linked to EYFS areas of learning so progress is clear and meaningful.

Home–nursery partnership

Parents can comment and share milestones from home to support a joined-up learning journey.

We’ll provide access details when your child starts, and you’ll be able to view updates securely.

Term time

Term Dates & Hours

  • Opening hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30–5:30 (BANES term-time)
  • Sessions: Morning 8:30–1:00 · Afternoon 1:00–5:30 · All-day 8:30–5:30
  • Early drop-off: 8:30–9:00 with breakfast (£7 for funded hours starting at 9:00)
  • Holiday Club: We offer a holiday club during selected school holidays. Sessions run Tuesday to Thursday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and are charged at your child's usual hourly rate.
  • Holiday Club does not run during the Christmas holidays, and during the summer holidays we operate for the first three weeks only.

Note: INSET and training days are set by the nursery and local schools and may affect opening on some dates. We share confirmed nursery INSET dates with parents each September. See the BANES calendar for any wider term-time updates.

Activities & Daily Routine

Every day is filled with opportunities to learn through play. Activities are planned around the EYFS curriculum and adapted to each child’s interests and development.

Funding

Fees & Funding

We accept government funding (eligibility applies). A £2 per funded hour consumables fee helps cover snacks, staff training and higher staffing ratios.

Our safeguarding policy explains how we protect children, respond to concerns and promote a safe nursery environment.

Complaints & Compliments

We welcome feedback from parents and families and have a clear procedure for raising and resolving any concerns.

Illness & Medication

Keep children home if unwell. Medication is only administered with written consent.

GDPR & Privacy
